I really didn’t think I’d need this category. After all, there are so many releases that are worth recommending, why would I waste your time and mine by talking about jazz releases that suck?
But I ran across a case of a jazz CD that wasn’t any good, but that any reasonable person would expect would be fantastic because of the personnel involved, and the time period in which it was recorded. I will be reviewing that CD tomorrow.
The reason that I will be reviewing that CD is that otherwise, you might be tempted to purchase it. As always, my mission is to help my readers make the most of their limited music budget.
For run of the mill releases that suck, I will continue my policy of ignoring them.
