Vee Jay Records

Vee-Jay was founded in Gary, Indiana in 1953 by Vivian Carter and James C. Bracken. Some of the more significant artists who have record for Vee Jay include Wayne Shorter, Eddie Harris, Gene Ammons, and Wyton Kelly.

Verve Music Group

The Verve Music Group houses the Verve, Verve Forecast, GRP, and Impulse labels.

Winter & Winter

Winter & Winter, a Munich-based record label that specializes in jazz and improvised music, has released records by Dave Douglas, Paul Motian, Jim Black, Fred Frith and Uri Caine.

Wobbly Rail

Wobbly Rail puts out improvised music and free jazz by such artists as Ken Vandermark, Steve Lacy, Jon Butcher, and Susie Ibarra.

Wounded Bird Records

Wounded Bird Records was formed in 1998 as a label that specializes in the reissue of albums from the 60’s, 70’s and early 80’s on compact disc. All of their releases are properly licensed from the owner of the original masters, in most cases the original record label and sometimes the artists themselves. They strive to reproduce the original album cover artwork, converted to accommodate the CD size format.

Yeah Yeah Records

Yeah Yeah Records is a Brooklyn-based, NYC-centric record label specializing in avant garde jazz and improvised music. Yeah Yeah Records was founded in 2002. Artists appearing on the label include Paul Motian, Mat Maneri, Jacob Sacks, Yoon Sun Choi, Eivind Opsvik, Dan Weiss, and others.

YVP Music

YVP Music was founded in 1985 and has positioned itself as the preeminant label for European jazz.

Zoho Music

Zoho Music describes itself as “Latin/Jazz with a New York vibe.”
